People do not search for "civil litigation". They search for the situation they are in. A page per practice area written in the language of the problem, not the taxonomy of the profession, is the difference.
The largest barrier to a first enquiry is not price, it is not knowing what making contact commits them to. Stating what the first call is, how long it lasts and what it costs removes it.
Gavels, skylines, columns and a handshake. It signals that the site is a template, and a template is the wrong signal for a decision made on trust.
For a sensitive legal matter, an automated chat asking for details is the opposite of reassuring. A clear form with a stated reply time does more.

A referred client still looks you up before calling, and often looks up the two other names they were given at the same time. The site is where a referral is confirmed or lost.
Correct, and a good site does not depend on them. Clarity about process, specificity about matter types and verifiable credentials do the persuading, and none of them raise a compliance question.
Agreed. The site should say what the firm is — the number of partners, the practice areas you genuinely take. Pretending to be larger is the most common mistake and the easiest to see through.

Yes. No results, no comparative claims, no testimonials unless you want them and your rules allow it. The persuasion comes from clarity about process and specificity about the matters you take.
Yes, and it is usually where most of the value is. Each one is written around the situation a client is in rather than the legal category, because that is what people actually search for.
A short intake form can capture matter type, jurisdiction and timing so enquiries arrive sorted. What it will not do is replace the conversation, and it does not ask for detail that does not belong in a web form.
